Project Description

PEET’s Wellard Square Shopping Centre development is located south-east of the Perth Metropolitan area adjacent to the existing Wellard Train station.
The centre includes a major supermarket retailer – 3,200sqm Woolworths, 550sqm medical centre and 17 other specialty retailers. This development has changed the greenfield site into a vibrant retail village in the suburban community.
The site spans over two lots with a public road running down the middle of the site (The Strand).
The success of the development has been dependent on comprehensive planning of the design and construction activities and the seamless transition of the various stages over the entire project.

Our Role

NS Projects acted as Project Manager, Superintendent and Tenancy Coordinator for the entire project.
Key services provided include brief development, design management, consultant contracts and contractor procurement, risk and value management, programme and budget management, contract administration, stakeholder engagement, leasing management, tenancy fit-out co-ordination and client liaison and reporting.

Key Outcomes

  • Successfully dealing with rock formation as identified in the geotechnical report  during the initial earthworks and overall programme.
  • Successfully negotiated the road closure of ‘The Strand’ for the duration of the construction works.
  • Meeting the Woolworths’ requirements to allow handover to be completed on time and commence fitout as per their lease agreement.
  • Providing a vibrant town centre to the Wellard community
