Senior NS Projects personnel were key members of a management team responsible for the redesign, construction superintendence, commissioning and successful opening of a PPP academic hospital over a seven-year period. Completed in 2003, the Inkosi Albert Luthuly Hospital in Durban comprises 846-beds, over 40 medical departments, 16 theatres and a dedicated burns facility. Read more
The 367-bed, $400 million Private Public Partnership between St John of God and the WA Department of Health replaces the Swan Districts Hospital along with providing a 60-bed private health facility. This complex, multi-staged $115m upgrade from 70 to 239 beds included a new mental health facility and an increase in operating theatres from two to four. We successfully completed the project through a carefully planned stage approach that allowed for the progressive completion of areas and department transfers, while maintaining continuous hospital operation. As project managers for this $59.7m multi-staged hospital redevelopment, we first reviewed the master plan to provide as much upgrade as possible for the funding available. While maintaining hospital operations, we successfully managed design and delivery of the new facility, which includes palliative care, emergency, medical imaging, cancer centre, outpatients and allied departments.
