Project Description

With substantial growth in population in the Shire of Murray expected between 2006 to 2016, a prime opportunity arose to develop a town centre site to provide the rapidly expanding population with access to national retailers on their doorstep.

Pinjarra Junction Shopping Centre is a medium-scale shopping centre, is anchored by Coles and has 15 specialty stores including food outlets such as Subway, Chooks and a mini-major tenant, The Reject Shop.

Our Role

In order to confirm the long term viability of the development, NS Projects was engaged to carry out a scoping study, with input from a team of expert consultants. This has been verified by strong tenant interest in the completed project.

NS Projects provided management, superintendent and tenancy co-ordination services from project inception through to the centre opening.

Acknowledging the need for a town centre to guide the future development in the town.
Recognising the need to protect the visual amenity of the George Street – Murray River historic and tourism precinct.
Realising land acquisition and amalgamation of titles.
Managing the construction process in a rural centre.

Key Outcomes

Project was completed on time and within budget.
Providing amenities to Pinjarra which were not previously present in the town.
It forms an integral part of the town centre vision for Pinjarra.
Centre has successfully traded since its official opening and stage two (extension to the existing centre) is a certainty.
Centre had 100% occupancy within six months of tracking.
