Project Liam - 22/06/15

The NS Projects team spent the last two weekends creating a custom-designed sensory garden in the backyard of single parent Glenn’s house for his son Liam. Liam has a severe intellectual disability, cerebral palsy and was recently diagnosed with epilepsy. Glenn says that Liam is sensory driven and loves the outdoors, however something as simple as taking Liam to the local park can be challenging as he requires constant supervision.

Over recent years Glenn has gone into major debt in order to make their home suitable for Liam’s requirements. Glenn had plans to create the garden himself but could not afford to do so after the extensive renovations.

NS Projects are partners with Therapy Focus, a not-for-profit disability service organisation, which enables our company to get involved with community projects such as this, not only providing financial support but also allowing us to get our hands dirty! It provides a rewarding experience for our team while also helping to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities.

“Looking at how much work has gone into the garden, I’m lost for words. It’s amazing what NS projects and Therapy Focus has done for us and we’re very grateful to have received so much support” Glenn said.
