The concept design for Perth City Square was released by WA Premier Colin Barnett on 27 November 2013. The plan was developed in response to more than 2,000 ideas generated from community feedback. City Square, besides housing the new underground bus station and Perth Central Train Station, will herald the return of food, community and city life to the Horseshoe Bridge. The Square will include the Horseshoe Market, an urban rooftop garden, water features, kiosks, retail spaces, landscaped terraced walkways, play spaces and striking Aboriginal art.
NS Projects is appointed as Project Manager for the design and delivery of City Square on behalf of the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority.
City Square will be Perth City Link’s crowning feature. Perth City Link is a regeneration project that will reconnect the CBD with Northbridge for the first time in 100 years, delivering improved access and connectivity and forming strong linkages to the foreshore. The area created will draw billions of investment dollars into Perth through a vibrant mix of new transit, commercial and retail zones, public spaces and living opportunities – and will positively impact everyone who visits the City – locals and tourists alike.
NS Projects has been the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority’s Project Manager on the Perth City Link for a number of years. In that time we have been responsible for managing the preparation and coordination of the overall Masterplan, Design Guidelines and initial phases of civil, services and landscape and construction. Our role has included ongoing co-ordination with numerous key stakeholders, including the Public Transport Authority, the Perth City Link Rail Alliance, the City of Perth, and private landowners to provide an integrated development outcome.
