On Sunday the 8th of November, members of the NS Projects team along with their families and friends, will be taking part in the John Hughes Big Walk – ‘Walk for a Ward’ for the Princess Margaret Hospital for Children. NS Projects have chosen to direct their fundraising for this event to Aboriginal Children’s health, a cause that Daniel Whiston, a member of our management team is passionate about and actively involved with.
Aboriginal people are more likely to suffer from obesity, high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease and diabetes and have a life expectancy that is 10 years shorter than the average Australian. Through events such as this, which raise funds and awareness, we can help to close the gap between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians health status.
The walking distances range from 6km – 15km around the Swan River beginning in Burswood. NS Projects will be providing a donation to the Emerging Leaders Team to support commitment to our Reconciliation Action Plan.
